Biography : Koena Mitra is an actress in the Bollywood film industry, she was also a very successful and experienced model. Her name "Koena" is a name of a river in India. When she became an actress, she never had any godfather to guide her on her path to stardom. She had to make my own decisions. Koena was trained in Indian and western classical for 11 years. If not an actress, she would have been a designer. She likes to work on her own clothes and make-up. As quoted of her saying "Spirituality is a very relative term. It is more of a personal belief. I believe in Ma Kali and Durga. If I am in Mumbai I visit the temple every Saturday. It is like a feel good factor. Having said that, I don't think people who go to temples are more religious or something." She initially gained prominence through winning Gladrags magazine's Mega Model Contest in 2002,Koena’s first break in Bollywood was an item number in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Road’; the song “Khullam Khulla” became a big craze. Koena played the lead lady in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Ranjit Mallick is the father of Koena Mitra.
