Description : Having spent 3 years in hibernation, music directors Nadeem-Shravan sprang back into action with their latest musical feast ‘Dhadkan’. This Dharmesh Darshan directed movie also sees the comeback of famous Akshay Kumar - Sunil Shetty jodi. The duo alongwith Shilpa Shetty forms the eternal love triangle in the movie. Sameer has penned some soulful lyrics that match with Nadeem-Shravan’s romantic melodies. The album opens with already famous ‘Dil Ne Yeh Kaha hai Dil Se’, which oozes romance and is pleasing to listen to. The song is sung quite heartily by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, with Kumar Sanu taking the microphone for the last paragraph. Nadeem-Shravan again plucks some sentimental chords in ‘Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein’, with Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik sharing the microphone. Then follows late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s qawaali ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra’. The ease with which Ustad moves from lower to higher octaves and the spirit in which he renders the qawwali are undoubtedly commendable. Then Sonu Nigam does a re do of ‘Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hai’ and makes it softer. The flip opens with Kumar Sanu’s version of ‘Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein’ that, however, fails to stand anywhere close to Abhijeet’s version. Then ‘Na Na Karte Pyar’ – sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik-- is a pacy number that goes by unnoticed. Sameer has come up with some good lyrics in ‘Aksar Is Duniya Mein’ – picturized on glamorous Mahima Chowdhary who sings, in a bhari mehfil, a few words of wisdom to Sunil Shetty brooding over his unrequited love for Shilpa. Finally, to fill up the remaining space, the album closes with the instrumental version of ‘Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan’. The music of ‘Dhadkan’ shows that Nadeem Shravan are still good at churning out romantic melodies. The duo has tried to dabble with funky beats in ‘Na Na Karte Pyar’, but with little success. Moreover, the eight-track album has only five originals with three repeats.
